In Kansas City, there are many beautiful parks and gardens to visit where you can enjoy a picnic, take the kids to play, or just enjoy a relaxing walk.  There is such diversity in this city, you can enjoy a picnic by the lake or a nearby park all in the same week.

Here is a list of a few of Kansas City’s Best Picnic Spots:

Riverfront Park

Especially popular amongst joggers and dog-walkers, makes Riverfront Park one of Kansas City’s Best Picnic Spots. Sits on the Missouri River with a magnificent view of downtown Kansas City. There are several park benches and if you’re in for a really good time, you can rent a scooter, ride to the City Market and enjoy a coffee at the City Market Coffee, there too. Dog lovers unite, grab refreshments from Bar K and watch the sun setting over the glimmering river!

Nelson Atkins Lawn

If there were a museum devoted to picnics, it might look something like the Nelson Atkins Museum. This can be a wonderful family outing.  Visiting the art gallery and then enjoying your picnic outside in the sculpture garden and exploring all the interesting sculptures. They also have outdoor concerts on a regular basis which are a real treat for the whole family.
