Riverfront Park

Especially popular amongst joggers and dog-walkers, makes Riverfront Park one of Kansas City’s Best Picnic Spots. Sits on the Missouri River with a magnificent view of downtown Kansas City. There are several park benches and if you’re in for a really good time, you can rent a scooter, ride to the City Market and enjoy a coffee at the City Market Coffee, there too. Dog lovers unite, grab refreshments from Bar K and watch the sun setting over the glimmering river!
Nelson Atkins Lawn

If there were a museum devoted to picnics, it might look something like the Nelson Atkins Museum. This can be a wonderful family outing. Visiting the art gallery and then enjoying your picnic outside in the sculpture garden and exploring all the interesting sculptures. They also have outdoor concerts on a regular basis which are a real treat for the whole family.
Antioch Park

This is a really large park with great open spaces. There are lots of relaxing and peaceful picnic spots and plenty of space and areas for the whole family to ride their bikes. You can sit by the large pond and watch the ducks congregate amidst the trees and other wildlife. For this reason, you can enjoy fabulous scenery and it is a great spot to enjoy a romantic picnic. Liberty Memorial Lawn

Idyllic, lush and grassy, and with plenty of natural shade makes Liberty Memorial Lawn one of our favorite places to picnic! And you can’t beat the view of Union Station.
Crestview Dairy Farm

Crestview Dairy is a 120-year-old historic landmark and private estate including 31 acres of beautiful landscaped countryside. Crestview Dairy Farm is beautiful no matter the season – but in Spring and Summer, it’s an ideal picnic destination too. Grab a wicker basket and your best straw bonnet. Old-fashioned is the way to go, a farm that feels frozen in time. Picnic on the banks of lake, Crestview. After lunch, wander through the Oak grove and check out the pond below.
Suite Tea | Camp of the Woods – Swope Park

You don’t have to go far to enjoy a picnic at Suite Tea’s Camp of the Woods Swope Park. These small woodland trails area great spot for kids, with broad paths suitable for buggies, and only a handful of steep slopes to climb.
